NVCT's Breakfast Highlights Conservation Efforts

NVCT President Michael Nardolilli speaking at Conservation Breakfast
This morning was the 11th annual Conservation Breakfast hosted by the Northern Virginia Conservation Trust. This is always a great event where many of the most active people in land conservation in this region gather, network and share ideas. Many prominent elected officials from around the region make this breakfast an annual "must do" event.

The Northern Virgina Conservation Trust is one of the best regional land trusts in the nation. As their President Michael Nardolilli reported today, 11 of their many projects have resulted in expanded parkland, and many more have been conservation easements buffering parkland. The public value of this kind of land conservation work is remarkable. In addition to expanded public lands, they have conserved habitat for rare and endangered species, historic sites, and other areas of great conservation value.

The guest speaker this morning was the Virginia Secretary of Transportation Sean T. Connaughton, who previously served as the Chairman of Prince William County.
